Tutorial: How to add background audio


Video Kiosk supports backgrounds audio which will play while the content loop is being played.. You can play streaming audio or a local audio file that Video Kiosk will play in a loop. By default, Video Kiosk will look for a local audio file named backgroundaudioloop.mp3 in your Background folder and if it is found it will be played automatically with no additional configuration required.

Instructions: How to add background audio playback

ShredIt will wipe data on any Android device – phone, tablet or TV. To install it, follow these step:

  1. Configure Video Kiosk with the audio file to use.

    If you haven’t already done so, configure Video Kiosk with the location of the background file.

    You can configure the location of the file that you want in two ways,
    – 1. by putting the audio file in the default location or
    – 2. by setting the local path or network path to the audio file in the App Settings.

    Method 1. To use the default location, just name the audio file to “backgroundaudioloop.mp3” and put the audio file in the background folder.
    Video Kiosk > Background

    Method 2. Otherwise, set the path to the file in the settings.
    Go to
 Video Kiosk Settings > Background > Audio URL
 and enter the URL of the local file or click the “Choose File” button to pick it from the Backgrounds Folder.
    Navigate and select the file and then click Confirm button
    Configure the Network Path in the App Settings
    Determine the actual URL of the audio stream.
    Go to
 Video Kiosk Settings > Background > Audio URL 
and enter the URL to the stream.
    Click the Done button.

  2. Enable Background Audio

    In the Background Settings, check the “Enable Background Audio” checkbox

To disable background audio playback:

  • Go to
 Video Kiosk Settings > Background > Audio URL
  • To disable background audio, Uncheck the Enable background audio checkbox
  • Click the Done button.
