I’d like to use Video Kiosk to remotely run a projector in our Church gym.
I will need to use a “large venue” projector with a long throw zoom lens.
To save on the projector bulb life, I’d like to be able to turn the projector on and off.
I saw that Video Kiosk can do this through the use of HDMI CEC.
However the only projectors I’ve been able to find, which support HDMI CEC, are home theater projectors and not large venue projectors.
Another approach is to remotely power the projector through an RS-232 connection. I could write a short command line program which controls an RS-232 port. Would it be possible to change the Video Kiosk software so that it runs a user set, command line program when it is time to turn on the display and a different command line program when it is time to turn off the display?
Thanks.
