This is a step by step guide on how to install the Open GApps on the Odroid N2 device and register the devices Google Play Services Framework ID with Google so that you can use Google Play Services on the device.
This guide assumes you have installed the Android 9 firmware with Video Kiosk as the only launcher from here and that you have installed the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) on your PC or Mac.
Do the following:
- Download ARM 9.0 Nano from https://opengapps.org/
- Rename the download to something simple, for example: oga.zip
- Power on the Odroid N2 and wait for Video Kiosk to open
- Allow ALL Video Kiosk Consent and Permissions requests
- Setup the network (typically WIFI) on the device
- Connect a USB cable to the OTG port
- On your PC or Mac open a shell or terminal and enter these commands:
adb root adb push oga.zip /cache/recovery/oga.zip adb shell echo "--update_package=/cache/recovery/oga.zip" > /cache/recovery/command reboot recovery
- Wait for Video Kiosk to open
- Tap the button titled Account
- Tap Google
- Wait for Device is not play protect certified message to display
- From the shell or terminal, enter this command:
adb reboot
- Wait for Video Kiosk to open
- Make a note of the Services ID displayed on the button to the right of the Services ID label
- Tap the button displaying the Services ID to open the Registration page at Google
- Login with the Google Account you will be using on the device
- Add the Services ID to register the device
- From the shell or terminal, enter this command
adb reboot
- Wait for Video Kiosk to open
- Tap the button titled Account
- Tap Google
- Enter the Account details for the Google Account that you will use on this device
- If you have already purchased a Video Kiosk license, tap the button titled Activate to activate the license on the device
